C. Ray Dotson

My name is C. Ray Dotson. I’m the 2010 Head Governor for the Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) Governors. After rushing through the “Fundamentals” education required for admission to the real estate salesperson examination, researching brokerages and passing the exam I feel fortunate that I made two very critical decisions at the beginning of my real estate career. The first was committing to be a professional in my business as a REALTOR® and the second was taking the GRI courses and being awarded this NAR recognized designation.

Honestly, there were no mentors or advisors in my sphere who promoted the value of completing the GRI training or recommended these classes as a high priority to get a new career started. I decided in favor of both and I am very pleased that I did. GRI is the most widely held designation in the National Association of REALTORS®. Designees make a commitment to providing superior professional services after being trained in many areas of real estate practice. The results are better service to and protection of their clients and higher income for the designee.

The instruction is high quality, up to date, professionally presented and the faculty comes from the most accomplished business and education areas of practice in Washington real estate. The unexpected bonus came from the networking opportunities with my classmates and the instructors. The connections made during the class work and breaks can generate referrals and relationships upon which lifetime friendships and professional bonds are established and nurtured. GRI graduates are more knowledgeable and perform at higher levels of professionalism as a result of their training. Without reservation I recommend completion of the GRI designation at the earliest possible professional opportunity. You and your clients will benefit as you practice your trade with the knowledge and experience this designation provides.
