Lewis County Parks

The State of Washington is famous for it’s outdoor beauty. Lewis County takes great pride in providing a host of opportunities to witness beauty and immerse yourself in activities that will provide lifetime memories.

You can experience the abundance each season has to offer whether you are near the west end of the county at Rainbow Falls State Park or traveling 112 miles to the eastern border.  There you will find White Pass Ski Resort as you travel through Mt. Rainier National Park.

In the heart of Lewis County both Centralia and Chehalis can boast unrivaled new additions that any city would envy.

One destination in Chehalis Parks has long been the Penny Playground.  Busloads of children trek here from all over the region to enjoy this facility at the end of the school year.   Simply “Google” Penny Playground Chehalis and you will be in luck to find out more at Chehalis Parks web pages.   Adjacent to Penny Playground is the all-new  Shaw Aquatics Center.  Visit www.chehalisfoundation.org/  to seek a glimpse of why these hidden gems like Alexander-Lintott Park and others are so well supported.

Centralia is home of a new first class sporting events facility.  Tournaments can now be held in Centralia that were only thought to be appropriate for places like the Tacoma Dome.   Photos do not adequately display the impressive interior like a personal visit – perhaps you found yourself there during Lewis County’s 50th Annual Home & Garden Show which was a huge success at this location.  The impressive complex is adjacent to Borst Park, a long time destination for tourists and sports enthusiasts alike with it’s footprint  alongside I-5.  Rotary Riverside Park, Shafer Park and other great destination information can be found at http://www.cityofcentralia.com/SectionIndex.asp?SectionID=8

Fishing Derbys are a kick for kids and adults alike.  Every June, Lewis County PUD hosts one such derby:  http://www.lcpud.org/Recreation/Fishing_Derby  See their home page for other recreational activities.

This synopsis is not intended to be a complete list of parks in Lewis County.  The Chamber of Commerce is easily accessible near I-5. Stop by to pick up a tourism guide  or check out http://chamberway.com.    Ask the locals about the treasures of the area and you will uncover many near Mossyrock, Morton and Randle and Toledo other towns for fishing and recreation.  It’s the age of the internet – Google a few terms and create your own itinerary.  Besides the places above, here are a few for your search term starter kit that are not necessarily parks:
