WR CEO Steve Francks to Retire

by Alisha Harrison, 2023 Washington REALTORS® President

After more than 26 years of extraordinary service, Washington REALTORS® CEO Steve Francks has announced that he will retire from WR on July 14, 2023. WR acknowledges Steve’s retirement with both regret and joy. The organization will miss his leadership but is happy that Steve and his wife Jan will have the opportunity to fully explore the mountains and enjoy a fulfilling retirement life together.

Steve's Legacy at WR:

Joining WR as Education Director in April 1997, Steve was soon promoted to CEO in April 2000. Working with great volunteer leaders, he built WR into one of the most effective trade associations in Washington state and the country, assembling and developing an effective staff known for powerful advocacy and innovation.

Steve has been instrumental in the growth and success of the organization. He has kept WR on the leading edge of association management, helped navigate the association through several market shifts and a pandemic, led the integration of data into WR’s member services, and maintained a focus on providing value to members first, always.

Steve's achievements at the National Association of REALTORS® were recognized when he received the prestigious William R. Magel Award of Excellence in 2021, presented annually to an individual who has excelled as a REALTOR® association executive and has an extensive record of participation, mentorship, and contributions.

Stay Tuned:
WR will announce plans for finding Steve’s successor soon and we hope you’ll join us in thanking him for his outstanding contributions to the REALTOR® organization and its members.
