Special Elections
There will be a Special Board of Directors virtual meeting on Friday, June 9 at 9:00 am. The purpose of this special election is to:
- Hold a special election for the vacant position of 2023 Vice President-Elect of Membership
- Approve a proposed Bylaw amendment to correct an oversight in the Bylaw revisions approved by the Board of Directors on April 14, 2023
CREDENTIAL HERE
State Directors planning to vote at the Friday, June 9 Special Board of Director meeting MUST be credentialed by Noon on Wednesday, June 7. You must credential to receive the voting link from our voting platform vendor. During the credentialing process you will be asked to provide the following information: NRDS Number Your primary email address and cell phone number. This will allow our voting platform, Election Buddy, to send the Friday morning voting invitation to two different devices so there is a backup to your email in the event it gets directed to a spam folder. The BOD Agenda was emailed to you on Friday, May 26 and is available on the WR website.

Online Credentialing will open at 9:00 am on Wednesday, May 31 and close promptly at Noon on Wednesday, June 7. State Directors planning to vote during the Friday, June 9 Board of Directors meeting must be credentialed by the deadline to be eligible to vote.
2023 VP-Elect Membership Special Election
DEADLINE FOR CANDIDATES TO APPLY: MAY 24, 2023
A special election for 2023 Vice President-elect Membership will take place at a Special Board of Directors meeting on Friday, June 9, 2023. The position of 2023 VP-Elect Membership became vacant on April 10, 2023, with the resignation of Jennifer Pederson. WR Bylaws approved April 14, 2023, Article IV, Governance, Section 9. Board Elected Succession, state “if the office of the first vice president, any vice president-elect, or the treasurer-elect should become vacant, the Board of Directors, may elect an individual who meets the qualification requirements set out in this Article to serve until the next regular election of officers and vice presidents-elect. The Executive Committee may nominate individuals to the Board of Directors for election to any of these positions.” Candidates interested in the position should apply no later than May 24, 2023. WR Bylaws Amendment
MOTION TO AMEND WR BYLAWS CAN BE ACCESSED HERE
The Board of Directors will be voting on a proposed amendment to the WR Bylaws. The proposed amendment reflects a change to the term of At-Large Directors from each local association to correct an oversight in the Bylaw Revisions approved by the Board of Directors on April 14, 2023. This motion will amend the term and return it to its intended length of one (1) year (not three). The At-Large Director term change was approved by the Operations Committee on May 4, 2023, and the Executive Committee on May 5, 2023. The vote on June 9 will be to approve the appropriate placement into the Bylaws.
A special WR Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Friday, June 9, 2023, and there is an important deadline you should be aware of. If changes to your State Directors are not identified by the following deadline, they will not be qualified to vote on June 9, 2023:
- State Director Changes - Noon, Wednesday, May 10
There will be NO EXCEPTIONS if names are received AFTER this deadline.
As a friendly reminder, during the Spring Business Conference held in Tulalip on April 14, 2023 the Board approved the revision of the WR Bylaws. This revision included the removal of alternate directors to assure WR is compliant with the Washington Nonprofit Corporation Act that was passed into law during the 2021 Legislative Session.

Requests for excused absences must also be submitted in writing.
